Facilities Manager
Reports to RSCF Director. Full-time, salaried position. Seeking an energetic, motivated individual who loves physically demanding, outside work and exacting animal care for critical species including large hoofstock in a dynamic, non-profit, wildlife-conservation setting.
Requirements
-
Maturity and demonstrated, practical experience at a wildlife/animal-care facility
-
Must be experienced using and maintaining commercial farm equipment including mowers, tractors, ATVs, chainsaws, Etc.
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a positive outlook
-
Ability to work productively, both independently and with a conservation team with minimal supervision
-
Desire to work in a rural setting and prioritize life-support systems for captive wildlife
-
Applicants must have a love for wildlife, be physically fit, able to work outdoors in all weather (in South Florida), able to lift 50-75lbs
-
Willingness to help meet all facility needs, including facility maintenance, landscaping, enclosure/building design, etc.

Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed

Married/partner couples with appropriately related or complementary experience may be considered as a joint hire
Being part of this team requires a strong understanding of water/irrigation systems, engine repair, and troubleshooting, expert knowledge of power equipment including professional-grade lawnmowers/equipment, tractors, ATVs, enclosure design, construction, and maintenance.
Education/Experience

Degree in relevant field plus two years’ full-time experience at an AZA/ZAA-accredited institution or similar/related facility or a combination of related education, training and experience that meets or exceeds the required job skills preferred

Must have experience working in a zoological/farm setting
-
Supervisory and leadership experience strongly preferred
Duties include but are not limited to all aspects of animal care and facility support, and daily maintenance of a 40-acre facility housing endangered parrots, primates and large hoofstock in south Florida. Florida resident preferred.

Resident Animal Care Specialist
Reports to General Curator. Full-time, salaried position. Seeking experienced wildlife professional to live and work at RSCF's Florida breeding and research center. Housing provided within RSCF's 30+ acre facility.

Must have extensive experience working with wildlife/exotics

Keeper I/Animal Care
