Current Job Openings

 

Keeper I/Animal Care

​

Reports to General Curator. Full-Time (40 hrs/week including weekends).

​

Responsibilities:

 

  • Daily care and management of animals at RSCF's FL facility

  • Diet preparation/feeding of psittacines, small primates, and African ungulates

  • Enclosure/property maintenance and design

  • Animal restraint when needed (working with RSCF staff and veterinarians)

  • Delivering and administering medications as needed (working with RSCF staff and veterinarians)

  • Animal record keeping

Qualifications:

​

  • Passion for wildlife conservation and environmental stewardship

  • Must have 1 year exotic animal experience (no exceptions)

  • Must be able to work well independently and within a group

  • Must be physically fit (able to lift 75 lbs.), operate an ATV, and work outdoors in all weather 

  • Must be available weekends and holidays 

  • Must be a US citizen or have appropriate VISA status

  • Florida resident

Compensation/Benefits: 

 

  • $15.00/hr starting with opportunity for further advancement

  • Potential on-site housing available for qualified applicant (single, no pets)

INTERNSHIPS

​

RSCF offers hands-on, conservation-focus internships suitable for aspiring conservationists eager to get their hands dirty, and able to travel to Loxahatchee, Fl, by their own means. Open to college-enrolled junior and senior students who have a strong interest in wildlife conservation, have basic knowledge of ecological research principles and procedures, and be willing to do physically demanding outdoor work in harsh conditions. Students must be self-motivated and open to assist in all research and work-related duties. Previous experience doing field-work is a plus. On-site housing is available.
